These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the File Storage website at filestorage.io, the File Storage SDK, the dashboard, the license service, and the Managed storage service (together, the "Service"), provided by File Storage ("we", "us", "our").
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or embedding the SDK, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to it.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including activity by your team seats.
- Keep your password and API keys confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to create an account.
3. Plans and licenses
Playground. The playground is free to view for evaluation only. It may not be used in production or embedded in a live product.
Paid licenses. Starter, Pro, Enterprise, and Managed plans grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the SDK for the number of websites and seats you purchased, for the duration of your subscription. Unless your order says otherwise, one license covers one production website and up to five seats.
Restrictions. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or bundle the SDK for third parties; remove or bypass license validation; or reverse engineer the SDK except where the law expressly allows it. SaaS and multi-tenant use requires an Enterprise agreement.
4. API keys
Production use requires a valid API key tied to an active paid plan. The SDK validates the key on load and periodically afterward. We may rotate, suspend, or revoke keys that are leaked, abused, or associated with an unpaid or expired plan. Sharing a key outside the licensed website is not permitted.
5. Billing and usage
- Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Managed plans include a monthly usage pool. Storage, egress, API operations, and image transforms above the pool are billed in arrears at the rates published on our pricing page.
- Prices exclude taxes. Applicable VAT, GST, or sales tax is added at checkout.
- If a payment fails we may retry it and, after reasonable notice, downgrade or suspend the plan until the balance is paid.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
- Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- store or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share;
- distribute malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system;
- interfere with or overload the Service, including through automated abuse of the license or storage APIs;
- violate the privacy or rights of others.
7. Your content
You keep all rights to the files you and your users manage with File Storage. On BYO plans files stay in your own storage and do not pass through our servers. On Managed plans you grant us a limited permission to store, process, and deliver your files solely to provide the Service. You are responsible for having the rights and consents needed for that content.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, SDK, documentation, and the File Storage name and logo are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license in section 3, no rights are granted to you. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.
9. Availability and support
We work to keep the Service available and secure but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation unless an Enterprise agreement includes a service level. Paid plans include support through the dashboard and by email at [email protected].
10. Suspension and termination
You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; access continues until the end of the paid period. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, or create risk for the Service or other users. On termination of a Managed plan we will make your files available for export for 30 days, after which they may be deleted.
11. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which File Storage is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory law in your country provides otherwise.
